Nourished Lactation Care Accepts Most Major Insurances!

We stand by our commitment to making lactation and infant feeding support accessible to ALL families.
Check your insurance coverage below. If we are not in-network with your plan, we’re happy to submit out of network claims on your behalf OR provide a superbill for potential reimbursement based on your out-of-network benefits.

We proudly offer payment plans, accept HSA/FSA, and offer sliding scale services to those who qualify.

Lactation support is essential and we do everything in our power to make sure every family is served with compassionate care- without financial burden.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Prenatal lactation visits help you feel prepared and confident before feeding begins. We cover topics like what to expect in the first days, how to recognize effective feeding, pumping basics, partner support, and how to troubleshoot common challenges early.

If desired, prenatal visits can also include a gentle breast exam to identify any potential barriers to lactation, such as anatomical considerations or prior breast surgery. This allows us to plan proactively and tailor support to your individual needs.

Many families find that prenatal education reduces stress and helps feeding feel smoother once baby arrives.

  • Yes! Nourished Lactation Care partners with Lactation Consultants of America (LCA), which allows us to bill in-network with many major insurance plans.

LCA handles all insurance billing and claims, including benefit verification and claim submission. This helps streamline the process and reduces administrative burden for families and for our practice.

We also privately contract with many insurance companies.

Insurance coverage varies by plan, and being in-network does not always mean there is no out-of-pocket cost. After you submit an appointment request, we’ll be in touch to discuss your particular plan.

  • Lactation care focuses on both parent and baby as a feeding team. During a visit, we take time to thoughtfully assess and support each part of the dyad, not just the feeding itself.

Visits are individualized and may include:

    • A detailed history and conversation about your feeding goals and concerns

    • Parent assessment, including breast comfort, milk supply, pumping concerns, and relevant health history

    • Infant assessment, including oral function, body tension, feeding behaviors, and milk transfer when appropriate

    • Feeding observation at the breast, bottle, or both

    • Pumping and equipment support if needed

    • Collaborative care planning with clear, realistic next steps

Our goal is to understand the whole picture so recommendations feel tailored, supportive, and sustainable for your family.

Our appointments are typically 90–120 minutes to allow for unhurried, comprehensive care. Feeding is dynamic, and babies don’t work on a schedule — this time lets us fully assess both parent and baby, observe feeding as it naturally unfolds, and provide individualized guidance without feeling rushed.

  • You’ll receive a personalized care plan and recommendations tailored to your goals. Follow-up visits may be recommended depending on your needs.

You’re always welcome to reach out through our secure messaging portal with questions about your current care plan. If something new arises, we may recommend a follow-up or quick telehealth visit to make sure your concerns are addressed thoughtfully and safely.

  • The home visit fee helps cover the additional time and costs involved in providing in-home care, including travel time, mileage, scheduling considerations, and supplies brought to your home.

This $45 fee is an out-of-pocket cost and is not billable to insurance. It allows us to continue offering in-home visits while maintaining availability and high-quality care for all families. Office visits remain a great option for those who prefer a clinic setting.

  • Absolutely. We support families feeding in many different ways, including breastfeeding, pumping, combo feeding, and bottle feeding. Our role is to support you, not push a specific feeding path.

  • Yes! Telehealth can be a great option for many concerns. Virtual visits work especially well for prenatal education, pumping support, return-to-work planning, bottle feeding guidance, and follow-up care.

If hands-on assessment is needed, we’ll help you decide whether an in-person visit would be more appropriate.
